Michael Moore, a Kinetic Technician, confirms the new multi-gigabit capable card is ready for installation. Kinetic’s $24 million multi-gigabit capable hardware update will provide 21,000 Texas customers eligible for fiber the option to significantly enhance their internet service speed and capabilities.

As a result of this hardware upgrade, internet speeds up to 2 Gigabits per second will be available to 1,500 qualified customers in Sugar Land. This project aims to double speeds for more than half-a-million Kinetic Fiber homes and businesses across the company’s 18-state-footprint. By the end of the year, 85% of Kinetic’s fiber-service area will be equipped to support multi-gig internet speeds. This investment represents a commitment to deliver the future of the internet to communities.

Interested Texans should call 1-800-347-1991 or visit www.windstream.com/fiber-internet to determine whether they qualify to purchase multi-gig service. Existing customers should not experience any interruptions to their service because of the upgrade.

Fiber is a future-proof technology, and this is another example of how faster speeds come to homes with no changes in equipment, or service visits. This network enhancement is crafted to future-proof customers’ internet experience, ensuring they have the bandwidth necessary to accommodate their expanding needs.

“With Kinetic fiber, speeds just keep getting better. This hardware upgrade will enhance our customer’s experience and ready them for a smart-home future that we believe will have more devices connected to more data processing than ever before,” said Danny Ferguson, Kinetic’s regional president for Texas. “At Kinetic, as part of our commitment to help customers Internet better, we are continuing to invest in our fiber network to deliver premium internet experiences enabling the latest technologies like telehealth, work-from-home, gaming, streaming and agriculture.”

Multi-gig internet offers speeds beyond 1 Gbps, ideal for modern homes and businesses with multiple devices and data-heavy applications. Powered by advanced fiber-optic networks, it ensures seamless 4K/8K streaming, smooth gaming, and efficient data transfers.
