Xfinity and Comcast Business Services Are Rolling Out to 3,400 Additional Homes and Businesses in Oxford, PA

Comcast announced the rollout of its reliable, high-speed Internet network to 3,400 additional homes and businesses in Oxford Borough and Lower Oxford Township, PA. The network expansion brings Internet, mobile, entertainment, and security services from Xfinity and Comcast Business to more residents and businesses for the first time.

“The expansion of Comcast’s network, which will bring Xfinity and Comcast Business services to our community, can enhance the quality of life of our residents,” said Kathryn Cloyd, Oxford Borough Council President. “New competition and state-of-the-art technology will make Southern Chester County an even greater place to live, work and play. Access to reliable, high-speed Internet is a necessity for success today and with this new infrastructure, Comcast is helping to fill some of the gaps in connectivity in our part of the county.”

“We are thrilled that Comcast continues to invest in Chester County,” said Cheryl Kuhn, President & CEO, Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce. “Comcast expanding their network to additional communities across Southern Chester County is an investment in our town, our people, our businesses and our future. I thank Comcast for continuing to be a great partner.”

“We made the switch to Xfinity, and it has exceeded our expectations,” said David Sharman, a local Oxford resident. “The sales representative and technician provided a great customer experience, and we are loving the speed and reliability we now have with our Xfinity Internet, TV and phone services.”

Residents can visit Xfinity.com/mytown and enter their addresses for additional details on construction timing and upcoming service availability. They can also stop by the Xfinity Store in Newark, located within the Christiana Mall, to learn more about products and services. This network expansion is part of Comcast’s latest investment in Southern Chester County, including:

  • East Nottingham, where construction is nearing completion for more than 2,500 additional residents and businesses
  • West Nottingham, where construction began recently
  • Highland, Penn, Upper Oxford, West Fallowfield and West Sadsbury townships, where Comcast is partnering with the Commonwealth to reach unserved areas.

Comcast representatives will also be on-site at Bellybusters Sub Shoppe at 2139 Baltimore Pike, Oxford, on Saturday, May 10 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. to chat with residents and offer $10 gift cards for use at the store. Because of this expansion, Bellybusters was recently able to sign on as a Comcast Business customer.

“This announcement represents a continued commitment to investing in and expanding our network to ensure that more residents and businesses in Southern Chester County have the connectivity they need to succeed,” said Dan Bonelli, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Freedom Region. “Our fast and reliable network is built to meet the community’s needs today – and into the future.”

A Network You Can Trust to be Reliable, Fast and Secure

Comcast’s state-of-the-art network is built to enable residents and businesses to thrive in today’s constantly connected world. Southern Chester County joins the 64 million homes and businesses across the country to have access to a network that is trusted by essential community organizations like hospitals, schools, transportation systems and first responders. It delivers gigabit Internet speeds, 99.9 percent reliability and built-in security to help keep customers safe from cyber threats.

Introducing Xfinity for Consumers

Comcast’s residential services are marketed under the Xfinity brand, and consumers in Southern Chester County will be able to take advantage of Xfinity’s full suite of products, including Internet, video, mobile, voice and home security. With gigabit Internet speeds, powerful WiFi that reaches every corner of the home, and super-responsive connections with low lag available with its plan, customers have a great experience using their connected devices to stream their favorite sports and entertainment content, video chat with coworkers and friends, learn from home or simply surf the web.

Comcast Business to Power Southern Chester County

For local businesses, Comcast Business offers a suite of connectivity, communications, networking, cybersecurity, wireless, and managed solutions to help organizations of all sizes achieve their business goals. Industry analysts and associations have consistently recognized Comcast Business as a leader and innovator in flexible, scalable options as well as one of the fastest-growing providers of Ethernet services.

What It Means for the Southern Chester County Community

Comcast’s commitment to communities goes beyond building the network and aims to increase economic mobility for the local community and its residents. That’s why Comcast created Internet Essentials, a broadband adoption program that offers eligible households low-cost, high-speed Internet and affordable computers. Additionally, over the past three years, Comcast has invested more than $145 million in cash and in-kind donations into Pennsylvania nonprofits focused on helping people build digital skills, expanding WiFi-connected Lift Zones and funding connectivity and Internet adoption programs.
