Insteel Industries Announces NCDOL Safety Achievement Award for Mount Airy Facility

Insteel Industries Inc. (NYSE: IIIN) (“Insteel”) the largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications in the United States, is pleased to announce that its Mount Airy, N.C. facility, operated by its wholly owned subsidiary Insteel Wire Products, has received the Certificate of Safety Achievement – First Year Gold from the North Carolina Department of Labor (“NCDOL”).

The award recognizes the facility’s outstanding safety performance in 2024, during which it operated without a single recordable workplace accident. The First Year Gold Award is part of the NCDOL’s Safety Awards Program, which honors private and public sector employers throughout the state that demonstrate outstanding safety records and a strong commitment to maintaining safe and healthy working environments.

“We’re extremely proud of the Mount Airy team for earning this well-deserved recognition,” said H.O. Woltz III, President and CEO of Insteel. “Their disciplined approach to workplace safety reflects the values that define our culture—teamwork, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to protecting our people. This award highlights the positive results that come from making safety a daily priority.”

This milestone further reinforces Insteel’s strong overall safety record. In addition to Mount Airy, multiple Insteel facilities have also achieved accident-free operations over extended periods, underscoring the company’s enterprise-wide commitment to workplace safety. As a result of these collective efforts, Insteel’s company-wide accident rate remains less than half the industry average, reflecting a consistent focus on employee well-being and operational excellence.
