Comcast Connects First Homes in the Town of Buchanan, VA to Reliable, High-Speed Internet From Xfinity

More Than 750 Homes Will Be Connected to America’s Smartest Converged WiFi Network for the First Time

Comcast today announced it connected the first residents in the Town of Buchanan, VA to Xfinity services. This rural network expansion includes all residents in the Town of Buchanan – connecting more than 750 homes to high-speed, symmetrical Internet powered by America’s smartest and most reliable converged network.

Xfinity brings Internet, mobile, entertainment, and smart home services into one simple, seamless solution – giving customers more speed, savings, and control over their connected lives. The Town of Buchanan now joins the more than 64 million homes and businesses nationwide with access to a network that fuels innovation, productivity, and everyday connection.

"We are thrilled to welcome Comcast to our community and applaud this significant investment, which provides the entire Town with a new choice for fast Internet service and additional connectivity options," said Sue Way, Mayor, Town of Buchanan.

Residents can visit Xfinity.com/mytown and enter their addresses for additional details on construction timing and upcoming service availability. The project is expected to be completed in summer 2026.

Comcast’s most recent rural expansion to the Town of Buchanan is part of the company’s latest investment in Virginia, which also includes expansions to:

  • Town of Bedford, VA, where construction is underway to connect more than 4,500 homes and businesses and services are already available to some residents.
  • Christiansburg, VA, where Xfinity and Comcast Business services are available to more than 13,700 homes and businesses.
  • Lynchburg, VA, where Xfinity and Comcast Business services are available to more than 12,000 additional homes and businesses across the Lynchburg area, including in the City of Lynchburg, Campbell County and Forest.
  • Radford, VA, where construction is underway to connect nearly 10,000 homes and businesses and services are already available to some residents.
  • Strasburg, VA, where Xfinity and Comcast Business services are available to more than 3,300 homes and businesses.

“We are proud to connect the first homes and businesses in the Town of Buchanan to our state-of-the-art network and continue our expansion across the Commonwealth,” said Ray Roundtree, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Beltway Region. “Our local team is excited to introduce residents to our full suite of products for the first time – from powerful WiFi that reaches every corner of the home to Xfinity Mobile that delivers incredible savings.”
