Chevrah Lomdei Mishnah Offers Yizkor and Memorial Prayer Services Ahead of the High Holidays

Lakewood, NJ: As the Jewish High Holidays approach, Chevrah Lomdei Mishnah is inviting families to honor the memory of their loved ones through the powerful tradition of Yizkor. In 2025, Yizkor will be recited on Yom Kippur (October 2) and again on Shemini Atzeret (October 14) — offering two deeply meaningful opportunities to elevate the souls of the departed through heartfelt prayer.

Yizkor, the memorial prayer recited four times a year, serves as a moment of spiritual connection between the living and those who have passed on. Traditionally recited after the Torah reading during synagogue services, Yizkor is a time to reflect, remember, and offer merit through both prayer and acts of kindness, known as tzedakah.
For those unable to attend a minyan or who wish to ensure Yizkor is recited on behalf of a loved one, Chevrah Lomdei Mishnah offers Yizkor recital services performed by dedicated Torah scholars, ensuring each prayer is said with intention and reverence.

Each Yizkor recital is carried out with halachic accuracy and spiritual care. Participants receive timely confirmation and documentation, offering peace of mind that this vital mitzvah has been fulfilled properly. These services are significant during the High Holidays, when Jews around the world come together in reflection, repentance, and remembrance.

In addition to Yizkor, Chevrah Lomdei Mishnah offers a full range of memorial prayer services designed to bring continued spiritual merit to the departed. These include daily and Yahrtzeit Kaddish recitation, Shloshim and Yahrtzeit observances, and Tehillim (Psalms) recitation.
Each service is rooted in Torah and tradition, and performed by experienced Torah scholars who approach every prayer with sincerity and precision.

The Kaddish prayer, recited daily during the traditional mourning period and annually on the Yahrtzeit, is a time-honored expression of honor and connection to the deceased. Shloshim and Yahrtzeit observances allow families to mark meaningful stages in the mourning process, while Tehillim provides an additional layer of merit and spiritual support.

Chevrah Lomdei Mishnah’s mission is to bring lasting merit — zechus — to the souls of the departed through Torah study and tefillah. Every service is carried out with devotion, allowing families to remain spiritually connected to their loved ones, even when they are unable to fulfill these obligations themselves.

As Yom Kippur and Shemini Atzeret draw near, Chevrah Lomdei Mishnah encourages families to take part in these enduring acts of remembrance. Through Yizkor and other memorial services, the organization helps preserve a sacred bond between generations—rooted in Torah, prayer, and timeless Jewish values.
