Racine Firm Grieve Law Awards Scholarship

Racine, WI - The criminal defense law firm Grieve Law grants Jonas Zhang a $500 scholarship to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Picked from applicants from all over the state, Jonas Zhang is the winner thanks to his inspiring essay, where he was asked to discuss an ethical dilemma he faced in his life and identify the conflicting values or principles that helped him navigate his decision-making process.

Grieve Law offers an annual scholarship to graduating high school seniors or college students of any year. Any student can apply as long as they plan to attend an accredited college or trade school in the coming year and provide the necessary information. Applicants are asked to send in their most recent transcript and an essay discussing the year's prompt.

“At Grieve Law, we understand that personal experiences play a crucial role in shaping an individual's ethical beliefs and pursuit of what is right. Our scholarship is designed to support students who have reflected on their life experiences and demonstrated a commitment to ethical principles and justice. We are honored to invest in the next generation of leaders who will uphold integrity and contribute positively to society.” said Tom Grieve, Grieve Law’s CEO and Founder.

In his essay, Zhang discusses an event in his own life where he was posed with an ethical dilemma. He reflected on both the situation and how that experience spurred growth in him. He closed his essay by saying, “I am still learning how to make judgments and am still growing in decision-making.” Self-reflection is the root of personal growth, and Grieve Law is confident Zhang will continue to grow and continue to be a positive member of the community.

Zhang graduated high school from Arrowhead High School and is now headed to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In higher education and beyond, he will surely continue to be faced with ethical dilemmas that offer ongoing personal growth opportunities. Grieve Law is confident that Jonas Zhang will continue to grow and excel.
