VelociRAX Launches New MAX Hitch Racks for Heavy-Duty, High-Capacity Bike Transport

Lehi, UT: VelociRAX has announced the release of its latest generation of vertical hitch-mounted bike racks, designed for riders who need durability, capacity, and ease of use in a single system. The new VelociRAX MAX hitch racks bring a number of engineering improvements while keeping the core features that made the original models popular among shuttle drivers, riding families, and serious mountain bikers.

In response to customer feedback, VelociRAX conducted a series of rigorous tests, including advanced 3D modeling and stress and strain calculations, to engineer a new lineup built for improved strength, usability, and rider readiness. The result is a rack system available in multiple capacities: 3X, 412, 5, 5X, 6, and 7, ensuring compatibility with a wide variety of vehicles and user needs.

One of the most important upgrades in the MAX models is the redesigned tire basket. Now rated to carry bikes up to 100 pounds each, the new baskets are built to support heavier e-bikes, including e-bikes and long-travel mountain bikes. With a total rack load rating of 300 pounds, riders can confidently load multiple bikes without compromising safety or stability.

Another key change is the improved release lever. Larger and more ergonomic than before, the lever now makes it easier to tilt or lower the rack, even when wearing gloves. This upgrade facilitates smoother hinging to the loading position, especially with full bike loads and heavier eBikes.

To improve long-term durability, VelociRAX has replaced the original plastic friction washers in the pivot system with fully welded bearings. This change extends the rack’s lifespan and enhances performance under repeated use. The pivot system has also been reengineered with a wedged square release pin, offering greater resistance to wear and reducing stress on moving parts.

Despite the upgrades, VelociRAX has retained the features that users have come to trust: an anti-rattle system to eliminate hitch movement, hydraulic dampers for controlled lowering, and a roll-in roll-out loading method that avoids heavy lifting. Each rack also comes with a complimentary garage mount for off-vehicle bike storage.

Customers continue to highlight how these features translate to everyday convenience. One user shared: “As a family of five, it was difficult to find a bike rack that could accommodate all our bicycles. I'm so thankful I stumbled on VelociRAX, as it is far superior to any other hitch rack I've seen. Vertical bike storage both on and off the vehicle, and the additional options like the integrated locking system and the floor cart make it even more adaptable to any situation.“

All VelociRAX models are designed to fit a 2” Class III hitch receiver with a minimum tongue weight capacity of 500 pounds, ensuring secure attachment and safe transport across a wide range of vehicles. With the launch of the new VelociRAX MAX hitch racks, the company reinforces its commitment to rider-informed innovation, translating real-world feedback into smarter, more durable solutions built to meet the demands of today’s cyclists.
