Friendly Recovery Center Earns The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Behavioral Health Care and Human Services Accreditation

Tustin, California - Friendly Recovery Center has been awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Behavioral Health Care and Human Services Accreditation, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, and effective care to adults seeking behavioral health and addiction treatment.

The Gold Seal of Approval® is a nationally recognized symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s dedication to continuous compliance with rigorous performance standards. Friendly Recovery Center earned this recognition following a comprehensive, unannounced onsite review conducted on August 26, 2025.

During the evaluation, Joint Commission reviewers assessed compliance with Behavioral Health Care and Human Services standards, including patient rights and responsibilities, leadership, environment of care, infection prevention and control, and program effectiveness. The review process incorporated staff interviews, direct observation, and a thorough review of treatment practices.

The Joint Commission develops its standards in collaboration with healthcare experts, providers, and patients, drawing guidance from scientific research and industry consensus. These standards are designed to help health care organizations improve patient safety, treatment quality, and overall outcomes.

“Friendly Recovery Center’s accreditation represents a significant achievement,” said Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, RN, executive vice president of Accreditation and Certification Operations and chief nursing officer, The Joint Commission. “By meeting the highest standards in behavioral health care, the organization has demonstrated a strong commitment to safety, equity, and compassion in treatment delivery.”

David Ham, MBA, Chief Executive Officer at Friendly Recovery Center, stated: “Achieving this accreditation underscores our role as a trusted provider of outpatient behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment in Orange County. Our team is dedicated to delivering evidence-based care for individuals facing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions. The Gold Seal affirms the quality of our programs and reinforces our commitment to providing patients with a safe, effective, and supportive path to recovery.”

Friendly Recovery Center offers comprehensive outpatient services, including an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), both designed to address mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring challenges. With an emphasis on individualized treatment, the center provides adults in Orange County and surrounding communities with compassionate, evidence-based care that supports long-term recovery and overall wellness.
