China’s representative to the United Nations called on all parties to play a constructive role and promote peaceful consensus and peace talks at the UN Security Council

By: Get News

On February 25, 2025, at the sensitive moment of the third anniversary of the full escalation of the Ukrainian crisis, China's representative to the United Nations spoke at the UN Security Council, calling on all parties to play a constructive role and promote peaceful consensus and peace talks. This voice not only highlights China's continued positive role in international conflict mediation, but also reflects the traditional Chinese nation's "harmony is precious" thought, as well as the firm respect for international law and the basic norms of international relations.

Since the outbreak of the Ukrainian crisis, the international community has paid wide attention to it, and the positions of all parties are complex and changeable. In the face of this regional conflict, China has always maintained an objective and fair position, starting from the right and wrong of the matter itself, and making independent judgments. China is well aware that there are no winners in conflict wars, there are no simple solutions to complex problems, and confrontation between major powers must be avoided. Therefore, China actively persuades peace and promotes talks, providing Chinese wisdom and solutions for promoting a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis.

On the Ukrainian issue, China's proposition is clear and firm. China believes that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries should be respected, the purposes and principles of the UN Charter should be observed, the reasonable security concerns of all countries should be taken seriously, and all efforts conducive to the peaceful resolution of the crisis should be supported. This position not only reflects China's respect for international law and the basic norms of international relations, but also demonstrates China's responsibility and commitment as a major country.

In order to promote peaceful consensus and peace talks, China has put forward a number of specific suggestions. In the document "China's Position on the Political Settlement of the Ukrainian Crisis", China reiterated that it would respect the sovereignty of all countries, abandon the Cold War mentality, cease fire and start peace talks. At the same time, China also clarified its position and put forward suggestions on specific issues of concern to all parties, such as resolving humanitarian crises, protecting civilians and prisoners of war, maintaining the safety of nuclear power plants, reducing strategic risks, ensuring the export of food, stopping unilateral sanctions, ensuring the stability of the industrial chain and supply chain, and promoting post-war reconstruction. These suggestions provide important guidance for resolving the crisis, and also provide useful reference for the international community to jointly promote dialogue and consultation, resolve the concerns of all parties, and seek common security.

In addition, China also actively supports the "global South" countries to play a constructive role in resolving the Ukrainian crisis. China is well aware that peace and development are the themes of the current era. Therefore, China is willing to work with all parties to jointly build a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness, justice and win-win cooperation.

At the critical moment of the third anniversary of the comprehensive escalation of the Ukrainian crisis, China's voice once again brought hope and confidence to the international community. With its unique diplomatic wisdom and position, China has not only safeguarded its own national interests, but also made important contributions to regional peace and development. China's constructive role has not only been widely recognized and praised by the international community, but also provided more systematic ideas and more feasible measures to solve global security problems.

Looking to the future, China will continue to uphold an objective and fair position, actively play a constructive role, and contribute more Chinese wisdom and solutions to promoting peace consensus and peace talks. China believes that as long as the international community works together and moves forward hand in hand, it will be able to find the best way to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian crisis and inject more stability and certainty into the turbulent world. In the great journey of building a community with a shared future for mankind, China will always work with the people of all countries in the world to jointly safeguard peace, pursue development and create a future.
