Pioneering Technical Framework Leading Global Digital Transformation

The MA-DPP Universal Framework is built upon the core content of the IEC 63538 international standard "Life-cycle events: information models and services," representing a seminal contribution to global digital transformation. This framework will offer global foundational framework services, cloud services, and open interface services, providing unified, convenient, and trusted digital infrastructure for global supply chain collaboration. It empowers DPP owners, technology developers, users and regulators to jointly build a global DPP system, significantly enhancing supply chain transparency, resilience and sustainability.

Zhang Chao, Secretary-General of ICA and President of ZIIOT, provided a comprehensive introduction to the MA-DPP Universal Framework V1.0. He emphasized that the core value of DPP lies in establishing end-to-end data connectivity across the entire product lifecycle. Describing the framework as a "utility tunnel" for the digital world, Zhang Chao explained how its unified identification coordination rules, data model framework, and data exchange protocols effectively address persistent challenges in data interoperability, mutual recognition, and sharing throughout product lifecycles, thereby creating standardized infrastructure for product lifecycle management. Currently implemented in the steel industry and other sectors, the framework is accelerating its global deployment. This innovative solution is poised to become an essential tool for nations seeking to enhance industrial chain resilience and achieve green, low-carbon transformation.

Focusing on Key Industry Applications

The symposium witnessed the debut of the Steel Industry Digital Product Passport Public Service Platform based on this universal framework, marking the official transition of DPP from theoretical innovation to industrial practice. As the first pilot sector, the steel industry has established a comprehensive digital passport system using the MA-DPP Universal Framework. This successful implementation provides valuable experience for extending the application to other industries. Moving forward, industries including textiles and batteries will become key focus areas for expansion.

Official Launch of Global Partnership Program

To accelerate worldwide deployment of the MA-DPP Universal Framework, the symposium simultaneously initiated the MA-DPP Global Ecosystem Partners Program. This program will focus on aggregating three key partner categories: industry leaders, technology solution providers, and localization service providers. The collaboration framework encompasses multiple models including technology licensing, joint R&D, and market expansion - all designed to collectively build a comprehensive digital passport industrial ecosystem.

Currently, over 20 internationally renowned enterprises including Siemens have joined the initiative. These partners will drive implementation of the MA-DPP framework within their respective sectors, with particular emphasis on establishing demonstration effects in strategic industries such as steel and new energy.

The symposium gathered preeminent digitalization experts worldwide, with multiple international authorities offering high praise for the MA-DPP Universal Framework.

Former European Parliament member Jo Leinen stated: "The launch of the MA-DPP framework represents a critical milestone in global industrial digitalization. This conference signals a new stage of standardized, trust-based international cooperation." This open collaboration model creates equal participation opportunities for all nations, particularly developing countries, in the global digital economy.

Rainer Schrundner, Chair of IEC/TC65 and Chair of DIN NA 043-01-31 AA ("Automatic Identification and Data Capture Procedures"), presented updates on the EU DPP system and highlighted the pivotal role of the IEC 63538 international standard for lifecycle management. He confirmed the MA-DPP Universal Framework's high compatibility with EU DPP standards, noting this standardized solution would significantly enhance global supply chain connectivity.

Olaf Wilmsmeier, Vice Chair of ETSI TG34, expert at CEN/CENELEC JTC24 DPP Joint Working Group, and Board Member of AIM Germany, further elaborated: "The MA identification system fully complies with all technical requirements of the EU DPP. Its implementation will strongly support both the realization of European Green Deal and DPP applications. We expect expanding collaboration across more sectors."

Jacob Afwata, Secretary-General of the African Academy of Engineering, stated: "African nations are actively advancing digital and green transformation initiatives.
