Midwest Engines & Generators Announces New CAT & Cummins Diesel Units For Sale

Midwest Engines & Generators (463-325-2777) has expanded its inventory of diesel generators, featuring new units from CAT and Cummins, with outputs ranging from 500 kW to 4000 kW.

-- New diesel generators are now available through Midwest Engines & Generators (MEG), including heavy industrial models such as the 2015 CAT C175-20 4000kW DG set, the 2025 Cummins DQKAN 2500kW set, and 2025 models from Cummins rated between 500 kW and 1500 kW. The company is now accepting orders on the 2026 model of the Cummins DQKAN 2500kW diesel generator, with an estimated delivery in January.

The CAT C175-20 is available as new surplus and is a tier-1 brand for heavy industrial generator sets. Priced at over $1.8 million, the single-unit 4MW unit is typically used by oil & gas corporations or hyperscale data centers that require high KW per unit without multiple paralleling generator sets. This model is available with a base-mounted fuel tank, sound-attenuated enclosure, electric start, a 24VDC battery set with a charger, and a 24VDC charging alternator.

Midwest Engines & Generators also features its most popular diesel generators from Cummins, the 1500kW set used extensively by hospitals, mid-size data centers, and mid-tier industrial plants. The 2025 C1500D6E generator offers buyers a full factory warranty, a long operational lifecycle, OEM support, and compliance with emissions standards such as the NFPA 110 standards for healthcare facilities.

The Cummins DQCB 750kW is widely regarded as a 'bridge' product that is large enough to meet the load of a single building, but compact enough to lower siting and permitting logistics and costs, explains the MEG team. For higher loads, the company recommends the Cummins DQFAD 1000kW generator set.

"These additions strengthen our ability to deliver dependable, large‑scale power solutions - ranging from 500 kW to 4000 kW - for data centers, healthcare, utilities, and industrial customers requiring resilient, compliant, and service‑supported generation assets," said the spokesperson.

Alongside the announcement of its inventory update, MEG has released a diesel generator buying guide that discusses the types of generators for various commercial and industrial applications, safety measures, and top models for each application. The guide discusses the top five generators from CAT and Kohler.
