Northern Ontario Engineering Firm BESTECH Grows Their Service Offerings

Sudbury, Ontario, Canada (Newsworthy.ai) Tuesday Mar 14, 2023 @ 8:00 AM Pacific —

BESTECH, a division of BESTECH Canada Limited, alongside FROSKR, is excited to announce the acquisition of W.G. Spencer Engineering Inc. Joining BESTECH's existing Mining, Power, Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation, Mechanical, and Structural divisions, Spencer Engineering – Hoist division - will bring additional expertise in hoists, hoist control systems, brake systems, service and production hoist plants, electrical and mechanical systems, and all auxiliary systems used in support of hoisting plant operations. The synergies between BESTECH and W.G. Spencer Engineering are numerous and will allow all divisions to take on a more diverse portfolio of clients, projects, and geographies.

The main objective for the Spencer family in pursuing this sale was to provide their employees with a platform for future growth and security. BESTECH's overall profile will provide opportunities to facilitate the continued growth of Spencer Engineering as the specialized hoist plant division. All the while allowing for more opportunities to support larger projects and hardware considerations. It was essential for Willis and Diane Spencer that any company worth considering be aligned with their corporate values and vision while respecting their focus to keep their team together and be located at the existing office near Owen Sound, Ontario (Tara, ON). BESTECH is positioned to do just that for the long term. Like Spencer Engineering, BESTECH prioritizes its corporate culture, seeing employees as family.

Diane and Willis explain, "This acquisition offers both of us the flexibility and freedom to focus less on the day-to-day running of a business and focus more on the training and guiding of the team and next generation of hoist specialists. Our hope has always been to leave a lasting impression on the industry, and this new structure will allow us the freedom to do just that."

BESTECH President Patrick Fantin is excited to begin working with the new team and for all the possibilities that lie ahead for clients across Ontario and beyond. "The acquisition of W.G. Spencer Engineering Inc. by BESTECH is a win-win for both companies – maintaining both companies' smaller family-owned culture, allowing for the ability to take on a more diverse portfolio of clients while providing more in-house complete design solutions for our clients. This is an exciting new chapter for both BESTECH and W.G. Spencer Engineering, offering the chance to build upon the two companies' respective successes and provide our valued clients with an even higher level of service and value for their projects."
