Pregis Names John Breber VP of Mergers & Acquisitions

By: PRLog
CHICAGO - Aug. 12, 2025 - PRLog -- Pregis®, a global leader in protective packaging, mailing and bagging, and flexible packaging solutions, appoints John Breber as vice president of mergers and acquisitions. Breber will oversee all aspects of the company's M&A strategy including opportunity identification, strategic fit assessment, valuation, deal structuring, and integration planning.

A 15-year Pregis veteran, Breber brings extensive commercial leadership experience across sales, product management, and customer service. Most recently, he led the Western U.S. region, overseeing markets west of the Rockies, incorporating British Columbia, Alberta, and northern Mexico. During his tenure, he drove significant growth and strengthened strategic partnerships.

"John brings a rare combination of field expertise, strategic vision, and deep industry insight," said Kevin Baudhuin, President and CEO of Pregis. "As we accelerate our long-term growth ambitions, his leadership will be instrumental in identifying and integrating acquisitions that expand our capabilities within key areas of focus such as automation, sustainability and innovative solutions for high-growth end markets."

Pregis continues to build upon an active pipeline of acquisition opportunities across North America and Europe, with potential expansion into emerging geographic markets and adjacent segments, strengthening the company's position as a global leader in protective packaging, flexible packaging, coatings and material science.

According to Breber, "Our market is evolving rapidly, and we have proven track record of protecting and growing enterprise value through operational proficiency and strategic foresight. My focus is to drive lasting success for our customers, partners, and stakeholders by integrating businesses seamlessly and accelerating their growth within the Pregis organization."

Breber holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and reports to Chief Innovation Officer Tom Wetsch. He partners closely with the company's executive leadership and external stakeholders to identify companies with strong cultures, unique value propositions, and talented teams that complement existing Pregis capabilities.

"I view our approach to acquisitions as more than buying companies. We are partnering to fuse talent, competencies, and culture to build a future-ready organization that outperforms expectations," Breber explains. "I am going to apply a strategic, forward-looking perspective to anticipate evolving market needs alongside visionary leaders like Tom Wetsch," Breber added. "Together, we aim to shape the future of protective packaging, automation, and sustainability."
