Movement Climbing, Yoga & Fitness to Host “Raising an Adventurous Family” with Tommy Caldwell at Movement Englewood on July 27

(PRUnderground) July 17th, 2025

Movement Climbing, Yoga & Fitness is excited to welcome world-renowned EDELRID athlete Tommy Caldwell to Movement Englewood on Sunday, July 27 for “Raising an Adventurous Family,” an evening of inspiration, climbing, and community for all ages. Presented in partnership with EDELRID, a global manufacturer of climbing ropes, mountaineering and work safety equipment, the event will include a meet-and-greet, youth climbing session, silent auction, and a late-night open climb with Tommy himself.

“I can’t wait to meet Movement Climbing Gyms’ next generation of climbers, leaders, and changemakers,” said Tommy Caldwell. “This isn’t just about learning how to send hard routes (though we’ll definitely be doing that!)—it’s about teaching young crushers what it means to care for our outdoor spaces, advocate for each other and our planet, and make conscious choices as consumers. Climbing has given me so much, and now I want to pass it on with purpose. Let’s climb strong, think critically, and grow together.”

Event Highlights:

  • 4:00 PM: Doors open for Tommy Caldwell meet-and-greet & silent auction
  • 4:30–6:00 PM: Movement-led kids climb session (ages 6–12; belayers provided)
  • 5:00–5:30 PM: Tommy Caldwell Talk: “Raising an Adventurous Family”
  • 5:30–6:00 PM: Q&A with Tommy
  • 6:00 PM: Silent auction closes; winners announced
  • 6:00–7:00 PM: Open climbing with Tommy Caldwell

For many parents, the idea of adventure can feel overwhelming—especially when the day-to-day already feels like a marathon. The good news is that family adventures don’t need to be epic—they just need to be a shared endeavor. Whether you’re climbing in the gym, picnicking in the park, or trying something new together, the goal is connection.

“We’re proud to host Tommy Caldwell for an event that celebrates adventure as a shared experience—one that brings parents, kids, and the entire community together” said Mike Downey, Gym Director of Movement Englewood. “This evening is a perfect example of how our gyms open doors for connection, learning, and lifelong memories.”
