Gutter Goat, a leading gutter service company in Cornelius, North Carolina, is proud to highlight one of its recent customers, Mr. Bonar, whose story is a reminder of courage, sacrifice, and resilience.

Mr. Bonar served with the New York City Fire Department for 30 years, beginning his career in the South Bronx as a fireman before becoming captain of Ladder Company 45 in Washington Heights, near the George Washington Bridge. His service was marked by dedication to his community, but one day in particular stands out above the rest, September 11, 2001.

On that morning, while on vacation, all FDNY personnel were recalled to duty. By 4:00 p.m., Mr. Bonar was at Ground Zero, where he and his company joined the search for survivors in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks. Over the following weeks, he worked tirelessly in the rescue and recovery efforts, including the search that ultimately led to the miraculous survival of seven individuals trapped in an air pocket in Stairwell B on the 16th floor.

Mr. Bonar later returned as a volunteer for the entire month of January, alongside fellow firefighters who rotated through for weeks and months to support cleanup efforts. His story is closely tied to the heroic operations carried out by FDNY’s five elite rescue companies, one for each borough, which played a direct role in saving lives during that time.

“Meeting and serving Mr. Bonar was a true honor for our team,” said Mike Prince, owner of Gutter Goat. “His story is not only a piece of American history, but also a powerful example of service and sacrifice. At Gutter Goat, we believe in honoring the people behind the homes we serve, and we are deeply grateful for his contribution to our country.”

Gutter Goat is proud to serve Mr. Bonar and all its customers with the same commitment to excellence and care that he demonstrated throughout his distinguished career. To learn more about Gutter Goat’s gutter services, please visit GutterGoat.co.
