Silent Journey Notebook – Crafted by Japanese Artisans, Now Live on Kickstarter

nakabi Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kanazawa, Japan; President: Hirotoshi Imakawa) today launched the Silent Journey Notebook on Kickstarter, one of the world’s largest crowdfunding platforms. This hand-bound notebook features cover fabrics made with Kaga dyeing, a traditional craft from Kanazawa.

A Notebook for Life’s Milestones
The Silent Journey Notebook is designed with the concept of “a companion for life’s milestones.” Each notebook is carefully bound by Japanese artisans, combining the skills of Kaga dyeing craftsmen and traditional bookbinders. The covers are made from surplus Kaga-dyed kimono fabrics, with elegant indigo tones and subtle patterns that give each notebook a unique character.

On the final page, backers can have their name or a short personal message printed, making each notebook the only one of its kind in the world. A limited edition of 180 notebooks will be produced and shipped worldwide from Kanazawa in November 2025.

Bringing Kanazawa Crafts to the World
Through this crowdfunding project, nakabi aims to share both the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship and the joy of using traditional crafts in daily life with people around the world.

“The Silent Journey Notebook is a notebook that quietly accompanies life’s milestones. From Kanazawa to the world, we wish to share the spirit of Japanese aesthetics through our craftsmanship.”
— Hirotoshi Imakawa, President, nakabi Co., Ltd.
