Bennett Awards Collaborates with Film at Lincoln Center on Custom Award Design for 50th Annual Chaplin Award Gala

Bennett Awards continues its creative partnership with Film at Lincoln Center, designing the bespoke Chaplin Award for the Gala’s 50th anniversary celebration honoring legendary filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar.

(PRUnderground) September 16th, 2025

Bennett Awards is proud to continue its ongoing collaboration with Film at Lincoln Center (FLC) in crafting the custom-designed awards for the prestigious Chaplin Award Gala.

In 2025, FLC presented the 50th Chaplin Award to legendary Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, adding another iconic figure to the list of honorees who have received this bespoke award designed and produced by Bennett Awards. Now in its fourth year, the partnership between Bennett Awards and FLC has yielded a sleek, modern award that honors the significance and legacy associated with Charlie Chaplin, celebrating excellence in cinema.

The Chaplin Award, presented annually at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, is a major fundraising event supporting FLC’s mission to elevate the art and craft of filmmaking. The custom award design, exclusive to Film at Lincoln Center, features a free-standing cylindrical form inspired by both a film reel and FLC’s iconic logo. Initially 10 inches tall, the award has been refined over the years and now stands at 9 inches, still weighing a substantial 7 pounds. Machined from solid aluminum and finished with a high polish, the design showcases film-strip detailing at each end and deep engraving along the side, where the recipient’s name and FLC logo are inscribed directly into the metal.

Notably, the award omits a traditional base, creating a minimalist silhouette that reflects modern sophistication. “This piece is just really sleek and beautiful,” said Karen McCrea, the project manager at Bennett Awards. “It represents Film at Lincoln Center’s logo in such a cool and sculptural way, it brings the logo to life. It looks incredible in photos and even better in the hands of these legendary recipients.” Designed to photograph well and appear striking on stage, the tall, pillar-like shape contains deliberate choices to emphasize presence and permanence.

FLC was impressed from the very first award delivered in 2022 and continues to order in advance, allowing for efficient, cost-effective production of multiple awards each year. Pedro Almodóvar, known for acclaimed films like All About My Mother and Talk to Her, received the 50th Chaplin Award in a star-studded, flamenco-themed tribute on April 28, 2025. The sold-out event featured performances and tributes from Mikhail Baryshnikov, Rossy de Palma, Dua Lipa, John Turturro, and John Waters. Previous recipients of the Chaplin Award’s custom Bennett piece include Cate Blanchett, Jeff Bridges, and Viola Davis. The proceeds from the Gala support Film at Lincoln Center’s year-round film programming, educational initiatives, and international festivals.
