UniFirst missed analysts’ revenue expectations by 0.6% last quarter, reporting revenues of $610.8 million, up 1.2% year on year. It was a satisfactory quarter for the company, with a beat of analysts’ EPS estimates but a slight miss of analysts’ revenue estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting UniFirst’s revenue to decline 5% year on year to $607.9 million, a reversal from the 11.9% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $2.11 per share.

UniFirst Total Revenue

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. UniFirst has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates three times over the last two years.

Looking at UniFirst’s peers in the business services & supplies segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Cintas delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 8.7%, beating analysts’ expectations by 0.9%, and Steelcase reported revenues up 4.8%, topping estimates by 2.7%. Cintas’s stock price was unchanged after the resultsand Steelcase’s price followed a similar reaction.

The outlook for 2025 remains clouded by potential trade policy changes and corporate tax discussions, which could impact business confidence and growth. While some of the business services & supplies stocks have shown solid performance in this choppy environment, the group has generally underperformed, with share prices down 2.4% on average over the last month. UniFirst’s stock price was unchanged during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $178.25 (compared to the current share price of $171.33).

P.S. While everyone's chasing Nvidia, we found a hidden AI semiconductor winner trading at a fraction of the price. See our #1 pick before Wall Street catches on.
