Ecolab Named Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality by Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index for 10th Consecutive Year

By: 3BL Media

Company celebrates 10 years of impact and progress

SOURCE: Ecolab

DESCRIPTION:

Ecolab has received a perfect score of 100% on the 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), designating it as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.” The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. This is the 10th consecutive year that Ecolab has received a perfect score on the CEI.

“This recognition showcases Ecolab’s ongoing efforts to ensure LGBTQ+ equality in our workplace,” said Ecolab Chief Executive Officer Christophe Beck. “Achieving a perfect score for 10 consecutive years underscores our commitment to doing what’s right and creating an inclusive environment where all associates can bring their authentic selves to work, feeling welcome, heard, valued and safe.”

Ecolab continues to expand its support for the LGBTQ+ community. Recent milestones of Ecolab’s progress include becoming a leading company to sign the Human Rights Campaign’s Business Statement on Transgender Equality and join the Business Coalition for the Equality Act. The company remains committed to strengthening an inclusive culture where all associates can bring their authentic selves to work.

The company’s PRIDE employee resource group (ERG), focuses on supporting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender associates and allies of the LGBTQ+ community, and helps to ensure all LGBTQ+ employees feel a sense of belonging and support that allows them to be their best. In 2021, PRIDE hosted a number of events to support the LGBTQ+ community and foster allyship, such as International Transgender Day of Visibility and multiple events during Pride Month. The ERG also developed a training course to increase education across Ecolab on issues LGBTQ+ people may face in the workplace and how to be a strong ally.

The PRIDE ERG’s executive sponsor, Ecolab’s Chief Human Resources Officer Laurie Marsh, led a campaign for Ecolab executives to participate in a “Day of Action” to raise additional awareness of the importance of the Equality Act, a bill passed in the U.S. House of Representatives that would prohibit most businesses from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

The 2022 CEI evaluated LGBTQ+-related policies of 1,142 U.S.-based companies, including non-discrimination policies, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, support of an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility. Find the full report at hrc.org/cei.
