Josie Award Winner Irene Michaels To Perform At TRAX FEST June 15th, 2024 In Pilsen, Chicago

Josie Award Winner Irene Michaels To Perform At TRAX FEST June 15th, 2024 In Pilsen, Chicago

Irene Michaels will be performing at the legendary independent label Trax Records launch of their “MADE IN CHICAGO” fashion collection in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Chicago House Music on Saturday June 15th, 2024 from 2-7 PM.

In 2023, Irene Michaels  became an “overnight” House Music Diva sensation with the hit song co-written by her entitled “I Like Rain.”, which brought her “Best Pop Song of the Year” at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville and an award from Get Out Magazine (one of the most well-respected LGBTQ publications on the planet).  On the heels of such success, Irene signed several record label deals, staying close to home with Chicago’s own iconic Trax Records for “I Like Rain”, and then also with NYC’s Tribeca Records for her cover of “What the World Needs Now” (the song now featured in the new “Joker” film trailer, and as first made famous by Jackie DeShannon and written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David). The latter recording garnered Irene Grammy nomination consideration, and she has again this year been nominated by the Josie Awards for Actress in a Music Video and Artist of the Year.

TRAX Fest is taking place for the launch of two new collections, the Trax Collection designed by Mario Maldonado and Trax Atelier by Michael White. Chicago’s independent label Trax Records is “arguably the most important label in the history of House Music” according to Rolling Stone Magazine.

In addition to Irene Michaels, TRAX FEST will feature live performances by Screamin Rachael, Jorge Cruz, Oliver Fade, Joe Smooth and other special guest artists to be announced.

Dubbed “The Queen of House Music” by Billboard Magazine, Rachael Cain known by her stage name Screamin’ Rachael is the leading female House Music singer and the CEO of the legendary Chicago based record label TRAX Records. A former original club kid Rachael has also appeared in numerous rockumentaries including “Glory Daze: The Life and Times of Michael Alig”, “The History of House Music”, “The Last Party”, “Party Monster”, “Disco Bloodbath” and more and in films as an actress as well. Rachael was there through the evolution of the genre and has worked with or is connected to performers including Grandmaster Melle Mel, Marshall Jefferson, Afrika Bambaataa, George Clinton, Colonel Abrams, and an array of others.

In line with the streetwear essence of Chicago, Trax Records will contribute to the rich tapestry of street style worldwide. The Trax Records Collection, designed by Mario Maldonado, will be official launched at the shop, “Chicago Midwest Made”. The first drop will feature limited edition signature tees with two exclusive designs for the summer season.

Michael White will also be unveiling a high-end line aptly named, Trax Atelier. Trax Atelier offers a high-end line of couture pieces created by Michael White, at the crossroads of avant-garde fashion and the warehouses where House Music originated and thrives. Michael White, a Chicago native, has an impressive design portfolio that includes work for Bob Marley, Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and now Trax Records. The Trax Atelier Exhibition by Michael White will take place at the Colby Gallery located at 1626 W 18th, Street.

Both collections will be available for purchase and custom orders on June 15th at the launch party hosted at Chicago Midwest Made, located at 1517 W 18th St, Chicago, Illinois in Pilsen, which made Forbes coolest neighborhoods in the world list.

TRAX FEST block party will take place on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 from 2-7 PM at Pilsen 18th Street Chicago.
