Form 2290 calculates the Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT). Truck owners use this form to report their vehicle's taxable gross weight and determine and pay any taxes due. Owners of heavy vehicles that weigh 55,000 pounds or more are required to file Form 2290 every year.
