19 Small Businesses Owners Acknowledged for Outstanding Customer Service and Repairs HomeServe North America honored 19 of its contractor partners during the Ninth Annual Contractor Awards held on Sept. 26. HomeServe invited the top 92 performing contractor partners from its network of more than 2,700 around the U.S. and Canada for a day of sessions that explored important topics to the skilled trades industry. Additionally, exhibitors representing equipment manufacturers, technology providers and material retailers, amongst other services targeted toward the skilled trades, held a tradeshow during the event. The event also included unveiling HomeServe’s new Skilled Trades Initiative. As part of the Initiative, HomeServe will provide financial support to its contractor partners in hiring and training apprentices, the next generation of skilled tradespeople. HomeServe also will be partnering with professional organizations whose mission also is to encourage people to pursue careers in the skilled trades. These sessions were followed by an awards ceremony to recognize the best of the best in service delivery and announce the founding members of the HomeServe Wall of Fame. Contractors chosen for the Wall of Fame have been part of the network for at least 15 years and have consistently delivered exceptional service over the partnership. Barney Jordan Plumbing of San Joaquin, Cali.; Stan’s Discount Rooter of Bakersfield, Cali.; Downey Plumbing of Orange County, Cali.; and Omega Electric of Berks County, Pa., comprised the inaugural class and were inducted into Wall of Fame, honoring those contractors who have consistently delivered white-glove customer service and top-quality repairs to our shared customers. “The opportunity to discuss the issues important to our industry and spending one-on-one time with our contractor partners is something that our leadership and front-line colleagues look forward to each year,” Sylvester Criscone, Senior Vice President of Contractor Management and Administration, said. “Our contractor partners’ feedback allows us to learn what we’re doing right and where we can improve. They have decades worth of experience, and their observations make our business better.” During the ceremony, HomeServe recognized the top-performing contractor partners in the following categories:
