Trellix implements support for devices powered by Snapdragon processors with leading data loss prevention Trellix, the company delivering the future of AI-powered cybersecurity, today announced Trellix Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Endpoint Complete now offers ARM-compatible device support for Windows-based operating systems. All Trellix DLP Endpoint Complete capabilities are available on devices running on Snapdragon chipsets, which power laptops, PCs, and servers. “Our customers are increasingly requesting support for ARM-based devices in their environments, and historically, few security vendors are delivering here,” said Ted Wilson, Senior Director, Product Management, Data Security, Trellix. “Ensuring organizations can protect their data comprehensively across all of their endpoints is a top priority for Trellix, and we’ll continue to expand our security controls to support ARM-compatible processing.” Trellix DLP Endpoint Complete offers customers protection against data exfiltration from endpoints by stopping data leakage from accidental or intentional data loss, adhering to compliance frameworks, streamlining remediation, and blocking unauthorized devices from installing software on endpoints. Now, customers can extend these benefits beyond x64 processing devices to ARM-compatible endpoints. Trellix has created a seamless process for customers who have x64, ARM, or both types of devices in their environment.
Trellix has been ahead of the market, enabling early adoption of ARM-compatible device protection. Customers currently leveraging Trellix Endpoint Network Security (ENS) and Trellix Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions are already benefiting from seamless security for their endpoints. ARM-compatible chipsets are growing in adoption because of power efficiency and performance. They offer longer battery life and lower potential energy consumption for devices and servers, which saves organizations money. Further, organizations leveraging processors, such as Snapdragon, for Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) architecture can increase processing speed and potentially reduce susceptibility to threats by having a more limited attack surface. “As compute needs grow, there is tremendous business and environmental value in decreasing energy consumption without negative impact to performance or scalability,” said Rami Husseini, Director, Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “We’ve seen a need for data protection to be available at the endpoint within systems powered by Snapdragon processors. Our collaboration with Trellix to enable Snapdragon support will provide new value for our users and strengthen the offering that Trellix DLP provides to their customers.” Qualcomm Technologies is a key producer of ARM-compatible chipsets, including some of the most widely used chips in endpoint technology today, Snapdragon processors. Snapdragon chips are integrated into popular Windows devices, such as the Microsoft Surface laptop. To ensure alignment with customer needs and smooth integration, Trellix collaborated with Qualcomm throughout the development and deployment of this support, with participation from Trellix customers with Snapdragon processors in the preview of the release.
