By: Get News
Blending suspense with a touch of humor, the novel is geared toward tween readers and explores themes of courage, intelligence, and friendship.

Carolee Kolve, an author known for her engaging storytelling, has announced the release of her latest middle-grade novel, Hack Attack. The book follows the adventures of 12-year-old computer hacker Nick Ryan as he navigates the dangerous world of cybercrime to rescue his kidnapped sister.

Set in the fast-paced world of computer hacking, Hack Attack introduces readers to Nick, a boy who views his sister Justine as a constant source of annoyance. However, when she is abducted by a criminal involved in computer fraud, Nick takes on the challenge of finding her, using his skills as a hacker to unravel the mystery. With law enforcement casting doubt on his innocence, Nick partners with his best friend Herbie, and together, they set on a daring rescue mission filled with computer hacks and confrontations with authorities.

The story captures the tension and excitement that comes with the unknown but also shows young readers the importance of loyalty and bravery. “At its heart, Hack Attack is about standing up for what’s right, even when the odds are against you,” Kolve said in a recent press interview.

The book provides young readers with a blend of suspense and wit as Nick and Herbie navigate a series of escalating challenges, from breaking into secured locations to avoiding the watchful eyes of the police. Through these adventures, the characters learn that true heroism isn’t about physical strength or popularity but about the determination to do the right thing when it matters most.

Kolve, a Stanford University graduate, has an established career as a writer of both children’s and adult literature. She has previously been published by McGraw-Hill and AuthorHouse, and her work has appeared in various publications, including blogs for the Huffington Post and short stories in local newspapers. This broad writing background enriches the narrative of Hack Attack, adding depth and dimension to the characters and the story’s themes.

Kolve’s latest release has debuted at several high-profile literary events, including the 35th Word on the Street Toronto Books and Magazine Festival and the 76th Frankfurt Book Fair.

Illustrated by Rosemarie Gillen, Hack Attack offers a visually engaging experience, complementing Kolve’s fast-paced narrative with vivid depictions of Nick and Herbie’s adventures. The collaboration between Kolve and Gillen adds an extra layer of excitement to the novel, making it an excellent read for tweens who enjoy stories rooted in technology and adventure.

Carolee Kolve’s Hack Attack is her latest contribution to middle-grade fiction, a genre that continues to captivate young audiences who love computers & technology. ‘Hack Attack’ is available for download on Amazon and other leading digital bookstores.
