UAE Based Organizations Expand Humanitarian Aid to Sudan

UAE-based humanitarian groups continue to deliver expanded relief and development programs to Sudan, addressing urgent needs and supporting long-term recovery.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – August 12, 2025 – UAE-based humanitarian organizations have reaffirmed their commitment to assisting communities in Sudan, expanding their efforts to provide essential services, relief supplies, and development support.

Over the past decade, these organizations have worked alongside global partners to deliver more than $3.5 billion USD in humanitarian and development assistance to Sudan. These contributions have supported critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure, helping improve living conditions for millions.

Recent initiatives include:

Over $600 million USD in humanitarian aid provided within the past year.

Medical programs delivering treatment and health services to more than 390,000 people.

Housing support for 1.5 million individuals in need of shelter.

$470 million USD allocated to assist 2 million Sudanese refugees in neighboring countries.

An additional $200 million USD pledged at the February 2025 Addis Ababa Humanitarian Conference.

These initiatives are implemented in collaboration with the United Nations, the African Union, and regional humanitarian partners, ensuring aid is delivered through established, trusted channels.

A spokesperson for the coalition of UAE-based aid agencies stated:

“Our mission is to ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches those who need it most. We will continue to work with international partners to support both immediate relief and long-term development in Sudan.”

At the Addis Ababa Humanitarian Conference earlier this year, participants acknowledged the sustained contributions of UAE-based organizations to global relief efforts. Their work in Sudan focuses on essential healthcare delivery, refugee assistance, education programs, and rebuilding critical infrastructure.

Looking ahead, future initiatives will focus on expanding healthcare access, strengthening educational opportunities, and supporting livelihood programs designed to help communities rebuild and achieve greater resilience.
