Briskman Briskman & Greenberg Selects Pedestrian Accident Survivor to Receive their 2023 Accident Survivor Scholarship

Briskman Scholarship PR 1

Chicago, Illinois – The personal injury law firm of Briskman Briskman & Greenberg has selected the recipient for its annual Accident Survivor Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded each year to a student who has overcome serious injuries from an accident caused by another’s negligence.

The firm has selected Lauren Koops, a current student at the University of Texas at Austin, as this year’s scholarship recipient.

The Accident Survivor Scholarship is open to students entering or currently enrolled in their first year of an accredited college or law school. Applicants must submit a personal statement describing the incident, how it affected their life, and the steps taken to overcome their injuries. The scholarship is awarded based on the strength of this statement.

As a family-owned personal injury law firm, Briskman Briskman & Greenberg understands the difficulties accident survivors face during recovery. Car accidents, workplace accidents, and other incidents often cause devastating injuries and financial burdens. Through this scholarship, the firm aims to help students who have endured hardship from accidents pay for higher education costs.

In June 2020, Lauren Koops was injured in a pedestrian accident when she was struck by a car while crossing the street. Over the next three years, she underwent multiple surgeries and worked tirelessly with support from friends and family to get her life back on track. Upon being notified of the scholarship, Lauren said, “I am so grateful to Briskman Briskman & Greenberg for holding this scholarship offered to accident survivors like myself. Their kindness and generosity allow us to move beyond what may have happened in the past and use our stories to strengthen a bright future.”

The attorneys at Briskman Briskman & Greenberg know first-hand the physical, financial, and emotional struggles involved with recovering from a serious injury. The firm is proud to support Lauren Koops and other accident survivors through the annual Accident Survivor Scholarship as they work towards achieving their academic goals.
