Pribanic & Pribanic to File Civil Suit After DUI Crash Kills Motorcyclist

Pribanic

Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaThe personal injury law firm Pribanic & Pribanic announced today that it will soon file a civil lawsuit on behalf of the family of John Wobrak, a 69-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a DUI crash in Jefferson Hills. The firm aims to hold all responsible parties accountable, including the bar that allegedly overserved the driver.

Wobrak was riding his Harley Davidson on the afternoon of March 14, 2025, when he was struck head-on by a Jeep driven by William Haughey Jr., a repeat DUI offender. Police allege that Haughey crossed into oncoming traffic after consuming three vodka sodas at Beer Belly’s Bar and Grill in West Elizabeth. His blood alcohol content was later tested at 0.142%.

Haughey now faces multiple criminal charges, but the civil suit, expected to be filed in the next one to two weeks, will pursue justice for the Wobrak family and shed light on a troubling legal gap involving dram shop liability in Pennsylvania.

“This is a pet issue of mine,” said attorney Victor Pribanic, who is representing the Wobrak family. “Dive bars that don’t have to have liability insurance send drunken missiles out on the roads to kill people. It’s all too common. Innocent families are left fractured, without recourse, and forgotten by the law.”

Pribanic & Pribanic has represented victims in multiple dram shop cases where bars overserved visibly intoxicated patrons. The firm is calling for increased public awareness and legislative change to address the lack of mandatory liability insurance for such establishments.

Founded in Western Pennsylvania, Pribanic & Pribanic is a trial law firm dedicated to representing individuals harmed by negligence, including those involved in motor vehicle crashes and wrongful death cases. The firm has secured numerous high-value verdicts and settlements in courts across the state.
