'Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa has announced that on Tuesday, October 11, more than 130 guests arrived on property and are occupying the resort’s 137 accommodations for a to-be-determined extended stay just 13 days after Hurricane Ian severely damaged Sanibel and Captiva Island. The guests are part of ARS Global Emergency Management Island Base Camp, a disaster recovery and restoration company that will serve public and private properties on both Sanibel and Captiva.

Noting that ‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa is now the island’s largest functional destination, Babcock added that “we anticipate a full recovery of both our flagship resorts — ‘Tween Waters and West Wind Island Resort of Sanibel — much quicker than we first imagined. The public-private sector cooperation in restoring electricity, water, internet, safety and other infrastructure measures is making this remarkable comeback possible.”

‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa will also provide food service to their highly welcomed restoration guests, amounting to more than 500 meals daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. “We’ve always been among TripAdvisor’s top-rated dining destinations,” Babcock noted. “We think our new guests will be in for a treat.”
