CTA Construction Managers Marks Structural Steel Commencement at Green Meadow Elementary School in Maynard, MA

CTA Construction Managers recently began the structural steel phase of the new Green Meadow Elementary School in Maynard, MA.

(PRUnderground) September 28th, 2025

CTA Construction Managers is proud to announce a major milestone in the construction of the new Green Meadow Elementary School with the commencement of structural steel erection. This critical phase marks the beginning of the school’s vertical transformation as the steel framework begins to take shape.  CTA began work on the structural phase in late July, and this phase is expected to be completed in September.

“Reaching the steel stage is always a major milestone in any school project,” said Lyle Coghlin, Principal, CTA Construction Managers. “It’s the point where the community can truly begin to see their new school taking shape. We’re honored to once again partner with Maynard, Mount Vernon Group, and Colliers to deliver a facility that will serve students and educators for decades to come.”

Designed by Mount Vernon Group Architects, the new 90,525 sq. ft. two-story elementary school will serve approximately 395 students in grades K–3, along with a Pre-K program for nearly 100 students. “The building will provide a modern learning environment for both students and staff, offering improved facilities, energy efficiency, and long-term durability for the Town of Maynard,” said Phil Palumbo, Director, Colliers Project Leaders.

The project is a significant collaboration between CTA Construction Managers, Mount Vernon Group Architects, Colliers Project Leaders, and the Town of Maynard. Together, these partners bring a deep history of experience and successful school building projects to this endeavor:

CTA Construction and Colliers share a 12-year working relationship, having collaborated on three previous school projects.

CTA and Mount Vernon Group have partnered for 17 years on four school projects, reinforcing a proven track record of success.

CTA Construction previously built the new Maynard High School more than a decade ago, further underscoring its commitment to the community.

“When complete, the Green Meadow Elementary School will provide a welcoming and adaptable environment that supports innovative teaching methods, collaborative learning, and the diverse needs of students from early childhood through grade three,” said Karen Lindquist, Principal, Green Meadow Elementary School. “The new school will also serve as a community hub, offering flexible spaces for events and activities that strengthen Maynard’s civic life.”
