How Yanmar’s C50R and VIO80-7 Excel in Challenging Conditions

Here is an example of an excellent application for our compact track dump/carriers, specifically the Yanmar C50R model, as well as the Yanmar VIO80-7 excavator.  In this case, our customer had a unique and tight access situation where stone material needed to be transported to the rear of the property between houses to be installed for shoreline remediation work and erosion control.  As the photos show, this pair of Yanmar machines are operating with ease in extreme cold and wind (middle of January on the Lake Ontario shoreline) and the operators are comfortable inside the heated cabs.

To focus on the C50R Yanmar track dump – this small crawler carrier is truly a unique one in the marketplace.  Let me explain:

1. The swivel dump, or rotating bed option.

This is an option on both of Yanmar’s track dump models, the C30R and C50R.  Instead of a standard straight dump bed, these carriers are fitted with a bed that swivels on a turntable 180 degrees, allowing operators to turn the bed and dump material to either side or the front of the machine.  As seen in photos of this jobsite situation, the swivel bed increases versatility and productivity.

2. The reversible operator seat.

This feature is standard on all Yanmar track dumps, and allows the operator to literally swivel the operator seat 180 degrees so the operator is always facing in the direction of travel.  The use of this feature is seen perfectly in this case where the machine has to pass through the narrow passage between the houses and get loaded with material, and then the operator simply reverses the seat, and drives out the way he came in?

3. Premium Enclosed Cabin Option.

The C50R model is available open station or with enclosed cab as seen on this particular machine.  The enclosed cabin features a premium design with a comfortable seat, easy to use travel lever controls, a well designed heat and A/C system, and dual monitors in front and rear of cabin so that the operator can always watch the camera footage no matter the direction of travel/position of operator seat.  Now that’s smart.

4. Power in a small package.

The C50R model packs 111 horsepower of legendary Yanmar diesel power into a compact, versatile, rugged, and efficient crawler carrier, with the ability to transport all kinds of material, to just about anywhere, no matter the weather or terrain.

So – next time you have a jobsite or situation that leaves you wondering how to transport or place material, remember the Yanmar crawler carriers, and give us a shout, we’d love to help you out.
