Chase said it plans to install electric vehicle charging stations at 50 of the bank's retail branches in the U.S. beginning this summer. It also said it plans to add on-site solar power generation to roughly 400 additional branches by the end of the year.
Chase said the EV charging pilot program will work with EVgo, with installation expected to be completed by the summer of 2023. The 100 kW and 350 kW fast chargers will be open to the public.
EVgo estimates that the EV chargers installed at 50 Chase locations will deliver a combined 9.4 million kWh annually, once completed.
The on-site solar announcement builds on Chase's existing array of solar installations at some 350 branches in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and California.
Projects underway in Florida, Ohio, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Indiana, and New York will add an additional 400 solar-powered branches, the bank said. Chase has plans to install 125 solar carports, as well. Once completed, Chase's total solar power generating capacity will be 25 MW, the bank said.
