Court documents are providing more information about foul play in an already tragic situation. Authorities found a man and two teenagers shot to death in the home as a fire burned.

Sheriff: Man, teens were found with gunshot wounds in Wake County house fire

Days after fire crews rushed here to put out the flames, you can still see the damage to the southern Wake County home. Authorities announcing today the people inside had gunshot wounds, and they now believe the fire didn't happen by accident. Search warrants say the fire was started in two places. Deputies say 49-year-old Shannon Collins was one of the people they found inside. I talked to his daughter Willow on the phone. You said that you weren't shocked. He was so violent. I mean. It doesn't surprise me. Like it is, of course, it's a shock, like you never really think it, but whenever you called and said the incident, I assumed it was something that he had done. She says she hadn't talked to her father in a year. Before then it had been more than a decade. She share. This photo of her with her father when she was about 7. She described him as violent. His estranged daughter identifies the two other people inside the house as Jet and River Collins. A GoFundMe has been started to support their mother. Deep down, I felt like, you know, maybe these kids, these siblings that I don't see this family that he kind of abandoned us for. You know, they probably don't have this great life either. An incident report also shows deputies responded to a domestic call the day before the fire broke out. The day of the woman in the household filed a protective order. With domestic violence, there's an element of coercive control to which no matter. What that victim does, that level of coercive control does not want to be relinquished. Monica Kearney runs a nonprofit that works to help victims of domestic violence. She says that control is why getting help is often dangerous. I wish there was a way that I could say, look out for this, and then, you know. But domestic violence happens in such a subtle, sometimes private entity. Here on 1010 Road, firefighters are still trying to determine the cause of the fire, the damage to this family, irreparable.
