A soaking rain is in the forecast for the next several days as a front brings increased scattered showers and storms.

<p>Meteorologist Grant Skinner here in the Weather Center Here's what's new with our pattern into this weekend and next week We could see upwards of 4 to 5 inches of rain with some locally higher amounts as we see this front move closer to our area and stall bringing a good chance for showers and storms Then with that tropical system possibly moving closer to our area another good chance for showers and storms in early next week That flood threat will continue all the way through the first half of next week So for your Friday highs are warm into the mid 80s close to 90 degrees closer to the sand hills but then a better chance for showers and storms later in the day with some increased cloud cover and we have the WREO weather alert day as we can see that better chance for showers and storms into this evening at 50% rain chance by 4 o'clock that will continue through 89 o'clock up to a 70% rain chance in the overnight hours so higher rain chance overnight into our Saturday morning A 70% rain chance on Saturday so more showers and storms possible with those We can see some heavier downpours and you kind of looking all the way through uh the end of the weekend you can see upwards of 2 to maybe even as high as 3 inches of rain for some spots So a good dose of rain uh into the weekend and we have a level 2 or 4 flood threat for Saturday it's a weather alert day So 2 WREO weather alert days one today and one tomorrow watch for The possibility for more in the next week as we could see more rain that could lead to some localized flooding across our area Temperatures finally cooling into the upper 70s for your Saturday and then into the mid 70s by the middle of next week possibly the low 70s by the end so a cooler pattern ahead but with that a much wetter pattern we could see some localized flooding all the way through the first half of next week closely watching the tropics to see how that will impact our pattern in the next week as well</p>
