North Carolina will experience some spotty rain on Wednesday as Hurricane Imelda pulls away from the East Coast.



Rain moving out, breezy days with cool mornings in the 50s ahead

<p>Hello everyone. I'm meteorologist Mike Mays in the WRL Severe Weather Center with our forecast update for this Tuesday night. We have drier air on the way, so tomorrow morning we'll wake up to what I'll call our last mild start. Uh, after tomorrow morning, the morning lows will be down in the 50s. Some locations will be in the 40s for Thursday, more likely Friday morning, and then even over the weekend, our morning lows will be in the 50s. 59 tonight in Roxburgh. 63 in Raleigh 63 in Fayetteville. Check out the forecast lows that we have over the coming days. The normal lows 57, 63 tomorrow morning, 54 on Thursday, 52 on Friday, and I think that's the morning where a lot of the cooler rural locations will be in the mid and upper 40s. 54 Saturday morning, 59 on Sunday. You will need the jackets because the air will be very dry and it'll feel a little extra chilled. So enjoy the cool mornings ahead. The reason why We're going to see the drier air as Imelda and Humberto move out, it'll drag some, both of them will drag some drier air in from Canada, so we'll be in a different air mass tomorrow, and all that cloud cover you see right now will linger through the night tonight. Maybe some spotty drizzle, maybe some spotty drizzle in the morning, but tomorrow afternoon, some models suggest we could go as clear as mostly sunny skies. Now up to the north, we see that drier air with the dew points in Chicago, New York City. Uh, Cleveland in the 50s, that drier air will be with us tomorrow. So instead of having the dew points in the 60s like today, they'll be in the 50s tomorrow, you should definitely notice the difference. Now at the bus stop in the morning, 20 to 30% chance for some drizzle, lots of clouds, 64 by 6 a.m. and tomorrow breezy with clouds in the morning, later in the afternoon, partly to mostly sunny, 77, the high. We had 71 today with all the cloud cover, with more sunshine tomorrow, we should have a milder day. Statewide. Partly to mostly sunny in the afternoon, 80 in Fayetteville, 76 of Rocky Mount. Morning fog in Boone in Asheville and down east of the coast, still an overcast for Nagshead and Morehead City, where seas tomorrow at the Outer Banks will be 8 to 12 ft. We saw at least 5 homes come down today in Buxton, and with the seas being higher tomorrow, there's a possibility more homes could come down. Haven't seen anything as of this. Recording in Rhodanty yet, but concerned that that's going to be the case tomorrow. Thursday will go mostly cloudy. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s, dew points will be in the 40s to low 50s, so the air will feel real crisp, and with a northeast wind, 10 to 15, it'll feel a little chilled, and by Friday we expect our highs in the mid 70s with mostly cloudy skies. Spotty drizzle can't be ruled out overnight, upper 50s to low 60s. Lows 63 in Raleigh, 63 in Fayetteville, and then for the day tomorrow, maybe some morning drizzle, but it is sunshine in the afternoon, mid 70s to about 80, and our highs tomorrow will be sunshine dependent. If we tend not to see a lot of sunshine, may not get as warm as 77, but I'm thinking we should have at least partly sunny skies, maybe mostly sunny skies. According to the Wake County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested 19-year-old Raul Castillo-Acevedo Jr. and charged him with felony assault with a deadly weapon and five counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property.
