A cool, breezy, and rainy rest of the weekend

Meteorologist Grant Skinner here in the Weather Center. Showers are likely through the end of the weekend with that best chance. Overnight tonight and into early Sunday. We'll also keep breezy conditions, gusts up to 25 to 30 MPH towards the triangle with stronger gusts in our eastern spots, and we'll keep cool conditions as well, with highs only reaching the 60s. Here's Futurecast all the way through early Monday. We'll have a good coverage of rain overnight tonight, covering almost the entire area with light to moderate rain, maybe some pockets of. Heavier rain mixed in as well. Watch for some locally higher amounts of rain up to 2+ inches. This is Sunday morning, you can see still pockets of light to moderate rain across our area, but starting to thin out a bit, we'll see more off and on rain for most spots throughout the day on Sunday, but still, light to moderate rain will be possible. So have the rain gear handy. This is late Sunday, more light rain possible with some brief showers possible even into Monday morning. So for Walk for Hope, or 60% rain. It's at 9 a.m., so 50% rain chance, 11 a.m. through 1 o'clock. So have the rain gear handy, a poncho, rain jacket just in case, but it'll be off and on rain, uh instead of just being constant rain, like we'll see overnight tonight and into early Sunday. Those highest rainfall totals will be in our eastern spots, closer to that area of low pressure, anywhere from 3/4 of an inch in our northwestern spots to 1.5 to the south and east, but we could have some locally higher amounts of the 2+ inches. The worst impacts will be at the coastline, though. High surf will continue coastal flooding as possible, with 2 to 3 ft inundation possible, and strong wind gusts offshore up to 50+ MPH, closer to that area of low pressure. We'll sit in the upper 60s for some spots on the Sunday, but most spots will be in the low to mid-60s throughout the day on Sunday. Then into Monday, temperatures will reach to around 70, finally warmer in the middle portion of this week, and drier. Then our next cold front swings through, rain chances will stay minimal, but we have even cooler and drier air, lows into the 40s, and a Friday and Saturday morning with highs cooling to around 70.
