The newly launched online training program is ideal for individuals who want to gain high quality investment experience to help them break into the venture capital or private equity industries, launch their own funds, or advance their careers.
Programs are available throughout summer, fall, and winter next year. They can be completed in person or online, but places are limited. The time commitment required is eleven weeks full-time, or twelve months part-time. The latter means the course can easily fit around personal or professional commitments.
Participants can expect to develop key financial skills such as deal sourcing, investment evaluation, and increasing the success of portfolio companies. Mentoring is available from top performing investors with over 35 years of experience and there will be opportunities for participants to present their top deals at weekly partner meetings.
Aside from learning from successful investors, students will build their own track record. They will make two to five investments per quarter (up to 20 investments over twelve months), each targeting a ten times return or more, and co-invest with top tier investors.
The course is designed to help the career prospects of those who take part so they can improve their resume, develop a career strategy, receive career coaching, gain access to relevant job opportunities, and secure references.
High level work experience can help people secure their dream job. Opportunities include analyst, associate, principal, venture partner, or emerging fund manager as part of the venture capital / private equity apprenticeship run by Venture University Venture Partners. It is a multi-stage investment fund, investing across consumer, enterprise, fintech, frontier, healthcare, and PropTech.
