Mini Roller Coaster Taps Rockwell Technology Used in Real Rides

By: 3BL Media

SOURCE: Rockwell Automation

DESCRIPTION:

A student-designed roller coaster on display at Clevelandโ€™s Great Lakes Science Center contains the same Rockwell Automation technologies used in the real thing.

University of Cincinnati engineering graduate Jared Holladay spent two years building โ€œProject Infinity,โ€ the 3D-printed working roller coaster, for his senior design project.

The 44-inch-tall model demonstrates the advanced safety features, data analytics, industrial controls, visualization, machine learning, and augmented reality that computer control systems bring to modern thrill rides. Itโ€™s on display through November to demonstrate how high-tech tools and processes power todayโ€™s roller coasters.
