To drive its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy, Principal® has established an ESG task force comprised of leaders from across the company. Appointed by chairman, president, and CEO Dan Houston, the members of the Principal ESG task force are charged with driving outcomes for the company’s forward-looking purpose commitments in measurable and impactful ways.
“Today, more than ever, good business is also about putting our voice to work to help make a positive impact on the world around us,” Houston says. The task force ensures that material issues are identified and helps guide business decisions, shaping the company’s overall sustainability strategy.
Each task force member comes with years of experience in their respective areas of expertise—and just as important—with a passion for doing what’s right. Task force member Kevin Farley, vice president of enterprise worksite services, is accountable for driving the strategy for environmental impact, for example. Farley says, “Sustainability starts at home. We work to minimize the environmental impact of our operations while ensuring our physical and digital work environments meet the changing needs of a global workforce.”
