WASHINGTON, April 01, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the voice in President Bidenโs Cabinet for Americaโs more than 33 million small businesses, announced the 2024 Export Lender of the Year Award winners. This year, the SBAโs Office of International Trade selected Fulton Bank, N.A. and First American Bank as the 2024 Export Lenders of the Year, and Lake Michigan Credit Union as the 2024 International Trade Lender of the Year.ย

โAccess to capital remains a critical component of any business involved in international trade, and the export financing and working capital provided by lending institutions is crucial to closing the trade finance gap which all too often holds many businesses back from international opportunities,โ said Daniel Krupnick, Associate Administrator for the Office of International Trade. โCongratulations to these outstanding lending partners, who collectively fuel the engines of our nationโs small business exporters.โ ย

The SBAโs Export Lender of the Year Awards recognize excellence in export financing. These awards highlight the accomplishments of lenders in delivering SBAโs international finance programs to small businesses, designed to help small businesses develop new markets, finance export transactions, and expand capacity to meet overseas demand.ย
U.S. exports are critical to the nationโs economy, with over 97% of all exporters being small businesses. During fiscal year 2023, the SBA guaranteed $495 million in financing to small business exporters, which supported over $1.3 billion in export sales.ย
