The Chevron Refinery in El Segunda had a Catastrophic Fire Causing Severe Injuries to Local Residents, First Responders and Employees at the Facility

During the night of Thursday October 2, 2025 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a large explosion occurred at the Chevron refinery in Southern California. It is the largest refinery in California. When the fire broke out Chevron's firefighters were joined by emergency personnel from El Segundo and Manhattan Beach to extinguish the blaze.
