ATLANTA - Sept. 24, 2026 - PRLog -- The cXm Professionals Association (CXMPA) Certification Commission today announced the expansion of its Professional Certification Program to recognize expertise across three complementary disciplines: Documents, Customer Communications, and Communications Experiences.
The program builds on the Electronic Document Professional (EDP) certification and introduces two additional certifications: Customer Communications Management Professional (CCMP) and Communications Experience Management Professional (CXMP).
Together, EDP, CCMP, and CXMP recognize how professional responsibilities have expanded from managing documents to managing customer communications across print, digital, and emerging channels, and increasingly the connected experiences those communications create.
The certifications represent complementary disciplines, not successive levels. Professionals may pursue one, two, or all three based on their experience, responsibilities, and career focus.
Three Professional Certifications
The Electronic Document Professional (EDP) certification recognizes broad knowledge and practical expertise across document systems, composition, production, output management, print and digital delivery, archiving, and postal optimization.
The Customer Communications Management Professional (CCMP) certification recognizes expertise in managing customer communications across print, digital, and emerging channels, including strategy, content, governance, personalization, compliance, workflow, operations, and optimization.
The Communications Experience Management Professional (CXMP) certification recognizes expertise in designing, governing, delivering, measuring, and improving communications experiences, including experience design, journey and interaction orchestration, personalization, preferences, accessibility, customer feedback, and analytics.
All three certifications are vendor-neutral and share a common competency framework. The CXMPA Skills Matrix provides a structure for demonstrating professional depth and breadth while allowing evaluations to focus on the responsibilities, judgment, contributions, and outcomes relevant to each discipline.
CXMPA will introduce the expanded program September 24 during Building the Future Workforce: Career Paths in Print, Mail & Customer Communications at PRINTING United Expo in Las Vegas.
