Valicia Evans Encourages Everyday Creativity to Improve Wellbeing

Designer and producer uses new feature interview to highlight how simple creative acts strengthen focus, confidence, and connection

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 17, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Acclaimed designer, production designer, and event professional Valicia Evans is using her latest spotlight interview to raise awareness about the importance of everyday creativity and its role in improving mental wellbeing, productivity, and emotional connection.

Evans, known for her work on Family Time, Love That Girl, In the Cut, and Partners in Rhyme, says creativity is more than a professional skill—it's a life skill anyone can use to improve their day-to-day life. "Creativity isn't something you need special training for," she explains. "It's a tool that helps you think better, feel better, and enjoy life more. Even small creative choices can shift your mood."

Advocating for Accessible Creativity
Research shows that creative activity has measurable benefits. According to the Journal of Positive Psychology, people who engage in small creative tasks experience higher levels of positive emotion the following day. A Stanford study also found that walking—a simple form of creative stimulation—boosts creative thinking by up to 60%.

Evans sees these benefits firsthand through her work in design, television, and event creation. "When people change something simple—like moving a chair, cooking a new recipe, or adjusting lighting—they feel different," she says. "I've seen entire rooms come alive with one change. And people come alive with it."

Bringing Awareness Through Story and Practice
In her interview, Evans shared her own daily creative habits. She sets aside "quiet hours" with no phone or email. She reworks part of her home every few months. And when she feels overwhelmed, she resets through cooking.

"I'll chop vegetables until my mind slows down," she said in the feature. "Cooking reminds me that creativity doesn't have to be big or fancy. It can be simple, calming, and grounding."

Evans encourages people to practice creativity in whichever way feels natural. "You don't need a studio or supplies," she explains. "You can start with whatever you already have. Your home, your kitchen, even your commute—there's room for creativity everywhere."

Why Creativity Matters Now
With rising stress levels across the U.S., Evans believes the timing is urgent. The American Psychological Association reports that 76% of adults experienced health impacts from stress last year, including anxiety, fatigue, and lack of motivation.

Evans sees creativity as an accessible starting point.

"People think they need a big plan to feel better," she says. "But you can start with something small. Change your space. Try something new. Follow one curious idea. Those little sparks make a bigger difference than people realize."

A Call to Action
Evans is encouraging individuals, families, and workplaces to embrace everyday creativity as part of their wellness routines. Her suggestions include:

Rearrange one part of your space each month

Try one new recipe every week

Walk without headphones for five minutes daily

Keep a notebook for ideas, sketches, and observations

Build a small ritual that sparks joy—lighting a candle, making a morning drink, or ending the day with one creative task

"You don't have to change your whole life," Evans says. "Just change one tiny thing today. Creativity grows from small steps."
