Jesse Vierstra Launches the "Build It Right" 7-Day Habit Challenge

Jesse Vierstra of Twin Falls, Idaho invites people to build one better habit—one day at a time.

BOISE, ID, January 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Builder and entrepreneur Jesse Vierstra is launching a simple public challenge designed to help people build a better daily habit using the same principles he applies on job sites: show up, fix small problems early, and finish what you start.

The "Build It Right" 7-Day Habit Challenge focuses on one common problem across work and life—starting strong but losing momentum. The challenge offers short, practical tasks that take 10 minutes or less and require no special tools.

"You don't need a perfect plan," Vierstra says. "You need a clear first step. Build the habit like you'd build a house—solid and steady."

Why This Habit Matters (By the Numbers)
45% of daily actions are habits, not decisions, according to Duke University research.

Small daily actions compound: people who stick to a routine are 2x more likely to reach long-term goals (Behavioural Science & Policy).

Consistency beats intensity: habits under 10 minutes have a 70% higher completion rate than longer tasks (BJ Fogg Lab).

Early fixes save time: addressing small issues early reduces rework by up to 30% in project-based work (PMI).

"These numbers mirror construction," Vierstra says. "If you handle small issues early, you save time later. Habits work the same way."

The 7-Day "Build It Right" Plan
Day 1: Clear the Site
Spend 10 minutes removing one distraction from your day. Silence a notification. Clear a small surface.
"If something's in the way, remove it," Vierstra says. "That's how work starts."

Day 2: Set One Standard
Write one simple rule for the week. Example: start on time. End on time.
"Standards make decisions easy," he says.

Day 3: Show Up Early
Arrive five minutes early to one task. Do nothing else.
"Being early changes the pace of the whole day."

Day 4: Fix One Small Thing
Correct a small mistake you've been ignoring. A typo. A loose hinge. An overdue email.
"Mistakes don't get better with time," Vierstra notes. "They get louder."

Day 5: Finish One Task Fully
Choose one task and complete it end to end. No multitasking.
"Finished work builds trust," he says.

Day 6: Review and Adjust
Spend 10 minutes asking: What worked? What didn't? Adjust one thing.
"Review is where improvement happens."

Day 7: Lock It In
Write down the habit you'll keep next week. Keep it small.
"Small habits last," Vierstra says. "Big promises fade."

Share Your Progress (Your Way)
Public option (optional):
Share a daily update using one of these prompts:
"Day __ of #BuildItRight. Today I fixed ______."

"Small win today: ______. Keeping it steady."

"Building the habit, not rushing the result."

Private option:
Prefer not to post? Keep a private note or send yourself a daily text or email with one sentence:
"Today I showed up by ______."

"One thing I finished today: ______."

"Progress doesn't need an audience," Vierstra says. "It just needs honesty."

How to Join
The challenge is open to anyone and starts any day you choose. There's no sign-up and no cost. Print the plan, save it to your phone, or write it on paper. Start with Day 1 and move forward.

"You don't need permission to start," Vierstra says. "You just need to start."
