H.B. Plant High School Launches First-Ever Dance Marathon to Support Children's Miracle Network

TAMPA, FL, April 24, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Panther Advisory Council (PAC) at H.B. Plant High School will host the school's first-ever Dance Marathon on Saturday, April 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Plant High School gym. The event will raise awareness and funds for Children's Miracle Network, supporting local Tampa Bay children facing serious illnesses.

The initiative is led by junior and Panther Advisory Council member Charlotte Morris, whose personal connection to the cause has inspired the event. As a newborn, Charlotte was hospitalized and received life-saving medical care. Now, she is determined to give back and help other children and families facing similar challenges.

"Dance Marathon is about more than just dancing—it's about standing for kids who can't," said Morris. "I'm grateful for the care I received, and this is my way of helping ensure other families have access to the same life-saving support."

Dance Marathon is part of a larger, nationwide movement that mobilizes students to raise funds for children's hospitals. While the program is well established at major universities, including University of Florida and Florida State University, this event brings the impactful tradition to the high school level at H.B. Plant High School.

"H.B. Plant High School has a strong tradition of leadership and service," said Dr. Jenise Gorman, faculty advisor of the Panther Advisory Council. "We're proud to bring Dance Marathon to our campus and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children in our community."

Students, faculty, and community members are invited to attend, participate, and support the cause. The event will feature music, dancing, games, and opportunities to learn more about the mission of Children's Miracle Network.
