Rockwell Automation is a co-presenting sponsor of Mandela: The Official Exhibition, which runs April 17 through July 18 at the Milwaukee Public Museum. Milwaukee is the first city in the United States to host this exhibit, which is being presented in partnership with America’s Black Holocaust Museum.
“This is a powerful exhibit that celebrates the life of Nelson Mandela, and we are excited to share this experience with our community and employees,” said Patricia Contreras, Rockwell Automation’s vice president of public affairs.
Contreras was one of 50 leaders from Wisconsin’s civic, corporate, education, government, and philanthropic communities that both museums brought together to assist with programming and guidance in linking Mandela’s journey to the Wisconsin experience.
The exhibit explores the life of the world’s most famous freedom fighter and political leader through a series of experiential galleries and interactive opportunities. It features previously unseen film, photos and more than 150 artifacts and personal effects on loan from the Mandela family, museums and archives worldwide. This unprecedented experience provides fresh insight into the people, places, and events that formed Mandela’s character as well as the challenges he faced.
A virtual program and resources are available for Wisconsin educators and schools to access the exhibit online for free.
