By: 3BL Media

SOURCE: Lenovo

DESCRIPTION:

As India struggles with the latest, brutal wave of COVID-19, Lenovo is supporting employees, partners, customers and friends in their efforts to stay safe.

Lenovo has committed INR 80 million (approximately US$1 million) towards COVID-19 relief to meet India’s short-term and long-term requirements, via the Lenovo Foundation.

Of this funding, INR 50 million will be donated in the form of medical equipment consisting of oxygen concentrators, refillable oxygen cylinders, invasive ventilators and oximeters are being donated to hospitals where the need is high.

The remaining INR 30 million will be dedicated to hospital extensions and supporting medical frontline workers.

  • In partnership with America India Foundation (AIF), Lenovo is setting up hospital extension facilities in state government hospitals in Gurugram and Bangalore.  These are prefabricated mobile air-conditioned hospital facilities with ICU beds, ventilators and oxygen concentrators.
  • In partnership with Yuva Unstoppable, Lenovo is supporting frontline workers in hospitals with food kits in Ahmedabad across ambulance attendants, wards boys, safai karmacharis, nurses etc.

Lenovo also invites all employees, partners, customers to contribute to this cause and donate medical equipment to those in need. Employees and friends of Lenovo can follow this link to support the COVID-19 relief work of the AIF by donation.

Last year, Lenovo pledged INR 53 lakhs (approximately USD 72,000) to support migrant workers through food kits, mask donations. Lenovo also supported the migrant workers in partnership with Give India for digital skill development to enable them to find jobs. Lenovo also supported its partner NGOs such as Meghshala, Agastya Foundation, and several others with devices to enable digital education for underprivileged children across states.
