Illumina's NextSeq 1000/2000 sequencing systems are based on a technology that leverages light to decipher the genome. The instruments are used, among other things, to determine the genetic profile of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its variants. The housing is made of high-grade aluminium and reflects the technological quality and precision of the instruments. The most striking design feature is the circumferential light bar that uses colour changes to make the working status clearly visible from all directions.
