Bangkok witnessed a historic cultural and spiritual convergence as Bihar Foundation Bangkok hosted the “Food & Spirituality Show – Celebrating Bihar & Bangkok: A Religious Match” on 15th November 2025 at the prestigious India–Thai Chamber of Commerce. The evening brought together two deeply spiritual worlds—Bihar, the Land of Enlightenment, and Thailand, the Land where Buddhism Flourishes.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Amit Kumar, Chairman of Bihar Foundation Bangkok Chapter, beautifully described the connection:“It is a perfect match between the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and the land where Buddhist culture thrives today.”
Bihar – A Cultural Powerhouse with Global Reach
Bihar is home to 131 million people, and among them nearly 5 million Non-Resident Biharis (NRBs) travel and live across the world. This global Bihari population is a major asset to tourism and cultural exchange.
Their emotional connection to Chhath Puja, one of Bihar’s most sacred festivals, creates a powerful opportunity to unite global communities and attract travelers back to their cultural roots. The Foundation aims to engage these 5 million NRBs worldwide through cultural celebrations and tourism programs.
Launch of the LOTUS TRIANGLE (Bodh Gaya – Rajgir – Vaishali)
A key highlight of the evening was the formal launch of the Lotus Triangle, a new spiritual tourism initiative that promotes:
- Bodh Gaya – The place of enlightenment
- Rajgir – The seat of meditation
- Vaishali – The land of sacred relics
In return, the Foundation encouraged tourism partners in Bihar to promote Thailand’s Spiritual Triangle: Bangkok – Chiang Mai – Ayutthaya, creating a two-way tourism bridge between the two spiritual hubs of Asia.
