On December 28, the fruit distribution center in Sunzigou Village, Lingjiang Town, Cangxi County, Sichuan Province, was filled with warmth and laughter as a heartwarming New Year’s event themed “Painting a Vibrant Future for the New Year, Old and Young Sing of Happiness Together” was held here.

At the event, villagers and children took to the stage to perform songs, poetry recitals, square dances, and other acts, fully showcasing the vitality of rural cultural life. In addition to the performances, a special area was set up for sampling local agricultural products, where local honey, minced meat noodles (Shaozi Mian), and various orange-flavored foods were well-received.

“It feels as lively as Chinese New Year today! My child won a snack gift pack from the ring toss game, and I got to enjoy the village’s minced meat noodles. My heart feels warm,” said villager Bai Fenbang with a smile.

Zhang Guihua, Party Secretary of Sunzigou Village, expressed that seeing the smiles on the elders’ faces and the lively presence of the children made her deeply feel that rural revitalization is not only about economic development but also about bringing people together. “Creating moments like today, where the ‘old and young’ who often stay at home can feel companionship and warmth through gathering, is one of the most significant aspects of our work at the grassroots level,” she said.
