UiPath Named a Leader in the Inaugural IDC MarketScape: Worldwide RPA Software 2021-2022

Positions UiPath as a leader for overall technical capabilities, strong capitalization structure for extending its end-to-end automation platform

UiPath (NYSE: PATH), a leading enterprise automation software company, today announced that it has been named a leader in the inaugural IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Robotic Process Automation Software 2021-2022 Vendor Assessment.*

Within the report, the IDC MarketScape recognizes UiPath strengths in multiple areas including overall technical capabilities and strong capitalization structure for extending the platform. According to the IDC MarketScape, “Consider using UiPath when RPA platforms are a strategic part of an enterprise automation program and when you are planning to consolidate RPA under a single, standard offering. UiPath is also suitable for enterprise departmental use cases and for midmarket adoption.”

The IDC MarketScape evaluated 12 vendors in the Worldwide RPA Software market for strengths and weaknesses of their solutions.

“We believe that automation as a boardroom priority shouldn’t be new or surprising anymore. Now the race is on towards a greater vision for automation’s role across the entire enterprise: scaling and scope extension,” said UiPath Executive Vice President of Product and Engineering Ted Kummert. “Our customers, and their employees alike, want more than simple desktop-based task enablement. The world has changed and so have the needs of customers. We’re incredibly proud of our recognition from the IDC MarketScape, and we believe it validates automation’s role in the world.”

The UiPath end-to-end automation platform is designed to reshape the way humans work, providing customers with a robust set of capabilities to discover automation opportunities and build, manage, run, engage, measure, and govern automations across departments within an organization. Leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI) based computer vision, UiPath software robots perform a vast array of actions as a human would when executing business processes. UiPath robots’ ability to learn from and replicate workers’ steps in executing business processes drives continuous improvements in operational efficiencies and enables companies to deliver on key digital initiatives with greater speed, agility, and accuracy. Today, UiPath serves more than 60% of the Fortune Global 500 and 80% of the Fortune 10.

“As an anchor technology for an enterprise’s automation strategy, customers are pushing RPA vendors to deliver more value-creating capabilities to broaden usage to both speed up the completion of work and improve productivity for all workers in all roles,” said Maureen Fleming, program vice president of IDC’s Intelligent Process Automation research. “Rather than simply replacing repetitive manual labor with a robot, newer lighter-weight assistant capabilities, easier to use studios, better planning tools, and broader use of AI are changing what was originally a tactical automation technology to something much more strategic and more broadly usable across the workplace. The vendors named to the leaders category in this assessment seamlessly marry a deep set of capabilities along with new innovative features into one streamlined offering.”
